Yep, that's right, you didn't misread the title to this blog. I, your photographer, will not ask your kids to smile. I know it sounds like I am going to fail at capturing your family moments, but trust me, I won't. Because here is what I will do.   

I will talk with your kids and I will get to know them. I will ask them how they are doing, how old they are, even what is their favorite things to do are. We may chat about the toy they love most, what they love about school or living on a farm and even something funny that their siblings did. Your kids have so much to say and I will listen avidly, laugh at their jokes, answer their questions as best a possible.  

Because when I talk with them, I capture your child's personality.

I will ask them to play, to pretend to be their favorite superhero or to show me how they love to spin in circles. I will encourage them to run, jump an shimmy in place to get all their wiggles out. And if I have to I will do all the fun things with them.

I will let them explore and to adventure and to be excited and learn about the environment around them. Where their curiosity leads them, I follow, and I see and capture the wonder of their experiences from their level and not mine.

I will encourage them to show acts of love. I will ask them to snuggle in close and give hugs. I won't stop them from starting tickle fights and looking you or their siblings in the eye. I will never discourage them from standing close and holding hands. And if your child falls down and the other shows comfort I will capture it.

It's capturing WHO your child is so important to me. Because who your child is, how they live and love is what makes your heart full and in doing all these things I am able to capture their real smile.
