She slips in her dress, puts on her shoes, just some last touches of make-up and she's ready to walk.

And a wedding day has a lot of walks. Especially for the bride. Short moments where she is putting one foot in front of the other, collecting her emotions as she goes, tramping down butterflies, holding back tears in as she walks.  

Towards her daddy, the man who raised her, has been her foundation, her giver of advise, the man who wraps her in a big hug to make the world alright. So when she gets to him, he cries because she looks beautiful and so grown up, but always still his little girl. 

He doesn't give her away.

He walks her towards love. Towards a man she liked so much she made her daddy promise to lose golf games against him. A man she loved so much because he made her laugh, let her be herself, love her cats and loved her unconditionally. 

These walks defined Derek & Kelsie's elegant country club wedding at the Wild's in Prior Lake, MN. Emotional, but filled with laughter and fun. So it was easy to see that her father wasn't giving her away at all. He was walking her towards a man who loved his little girl, a man he respected and loved himself, that he knew he was gaining a son.
