Riverside Family Mini Session {Mankato, MN}

Earlier this year I had an idea to run a spring mini session giveaway. The weather was still cold, but spring was just around the corner. Well, now that we have our feet firmly planted in summer (humidity, heat and all) I am finally getting around to sharing this lovely early May riverside family mini session I had with Kate and her gorgeous little family. 

One of the things on my goal list this year was to really step outside my comfort zone when it came to finding locations that suit the look and feel my clients images. This particular location {Sibley Park on the riverbank of the Blue Earth River} I had been holding on to in my back pocket waiting for the right client to describe their ideal session location.  

The location of your session is just as important as the clothes you pick out or even the people you take photo with. Why? Because the location helps tell the story too. When Kate described liking "bright and fresh" pictures I knew I this riverside location would provide a great back drop to their family photos!
