Lovely Little Hearts

They rush up to the line and let their bowling balls fly. They are bands of energy as they consume pizza and pop. They  chatter with each other and made silly faces, stand on couches, twirl in circles and more as they wait for their turns at the lane. Their antics make me laugh until my sides hurt and are those of normal kids. But their parents know how abnormal their young lives have been. Most have had 3 or 4 (and some even more) major surgeries on their lovely little hearts in their short life time. 

All have complex heart defects. Some have multiple heart defects. Heart defects are the leading type of defects of newborns. This is why Lasting Imprint has their CHD Awareness Week and has made it their goal to inspire people to join the fight against CHD through education, research, and assistance to heart families.
